Energy Materials 2014 Was Successfully Held in Xi'an

Energy Materials 2014 was successfully held in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, China from November 4th to 6th, 2014. The conference was jointly organized by the Chinese Society for Metals (CSM) and the Minerals, Metals, and Materials Society (TMS). 

With one year preparation, Energy Materials 2014 received more than 200 abstracts from 21 Countries and regions such as the United States, Japan, Italy, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Sweden, Korea, India, Germany, China, etc. After the strict reviews by the technical committee experts, there were 113 manuscripts included in the conference proceedings CD published by TMS. This event attracts more than 300 participants from 22 countries and regions. 121 papers were arranged for the oral presentation and 20 papers were arranged for poster presentation. 

The topics of Energy Materials 2014 included materials for coal-based systems, gas turbine systems, nuclear systems, oil & gas and pressure vessels. Prof. Kuangdi XU who is honorary chairman of Chinese Academy of Engineering, Prof. H. HENEIN who is president of TMS, gave the opening speech of the conference. The conference also invited four experts from the United States, Italy and China to give a comprehensive introduction about the respective progress of energy materials in recent years and the future development, including Prof. Yuqing WENG from the Chinese Society for Metals, Prof. B. MISHRA from Colorado School of Mines, Dr. Ze Long LEI from Centro Sviluppo Materiali, and Dr. C. Y. HUO from CNPC Tubular Goods Research Institute.
