Prof. ZHU Wancheng and Prof. REN Yi Recommended by CSM Won "the 13th National Award for Youth in Science and Technology"

December 16th, 2014. The Membership Day of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) was successfully held in Beijing’s Great Hall of the People. On the event, 99 young scientists were bestowed “the 13th National Award for Youth in Science and Technology”, including Prof. ZHU Wancheng1 and Prof. REN Yi2 recommended by the Chinese Society for Metals (CSM).

The “National Award for Youth in Science and Technology” is held every two years since 1987, jointly managed by the Organization Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China and CAST. This award aims to encourage and praise the youth experts who made the outstanding achievements in the national economic development, social progress and scientific and technological innovation.

CSM consistently pay more attention to the discovery, training, selection and recommendation of excellent youth in the fields of metallurgy and materials. In the latest 3 competition, 5 youthful experts recommended by CSM had won this award.

 

Brief introduction of the winners:

1.     Prof. ZHU Wancheng (1974), Professor of Northeast University (China), teaches and researches in the fields of rock mechanics.

2.     Prof. REN Yi (1969), the chief expert of Ansteel Technology Centre, is devoted to research and develop the pipeline steel.
