The 4^th International Conference on Continuous Casting of Steel in Developing Countries (CCC’08) was successfully held

“The 4th International Conference on Continuous Casting of Steel in Developing Countries (CCC’08)” organized by The Chinese Society for Metals was successfully held in Beijing, China in November 4-7, 2008. Prof. Yin Ruiyu, the member of ChineseAcademy of Engineering, the honorary president of CSM, Prof. Hong Jibi, the executive vice president and secretary-general of CSM attended the conference.

This event attracted more than 210 delegates from 10 countries. 129 papers were collected in the conference proceedings. The participants reviewed the achievements in technology developments of continuous casting, discussed the optimization of CC production processes, and put forward the proposals for CC upgrading to adapt the exploitations of new steel materials during the conference period. The state-of-the art technology for more competitive products with good-quality, high-efficiency, and low-cost was also mentioned in CCC’08. Meanwhile, an exhibition was held near the conference hall. After this conference, 74 delegates visited the steelmaking and continuous casting production line of Hebei Shougang Qian’an Iron & Steel Co., Ltd. All participants gave high appraise to the conference.
