The result of “Chinese Science and Technology Journal International Influence Promotion Project” (CSTJIIPP) was unveiled on November 29^th, 2013. “Acta Metallurgica Sinica (English Letters)”, sponsored by the Chinese Society for Metals (CSM), won the B class funding award, and got 3 million RMB reward from this project. There were more than 200 domestic English journals joining the project competition, “Acta Metallurgica Sinica (English Letters)” was one of the only two domestic English materials journals which won this award.

The project CSTJIIPP was sponsored by six ministries of Chinese central government, including China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. The aim of the project was to elevate the international influence of Chinese academic periodicals by funding reward. The project funded 6 A class journals, 30 B and C class journals.

“Acta Metallurgica Sinica (English Letters)” (ISSN 1006-7191, CN 21-1361/TG), sponsored by CSM, was started in 1988, and has its interesting in the fields of inorganic materials, more focusing on the latest scientific research achievements in the metal materials field, reporting the innovative research papers and high level review and commentaries. All the published papers of “Acta Metallurgica Sinica (English Letters)” are covered by Science Citation Index (SCI), Engineering Index (EI) and other important international indexing systems.
